Welcome to Marian Mission Educational and Family Support Centre

The specialisation of the Marian Mission Educational and Family Support Centre is on education, childcare, behaviour, learning and family support and we are driven by the desire to provide appropriate and enriching services aimed at giving disadvantaged individuals opportunities to develop life skills, social independence and interpersonal skills. These will help them to acquire relevant skills and resources that will enable them to blend in society, achieve their full potentials and subsequently gain meaningful employment. Our focus is to:

• work with our clients and not just for them
• promote equal opportunities for all our clients
• offer challenging opportunities to our clients to enable them maximise their potentials
• offer hope for a new start for our client
• work in partnership with relevant agencies i.e. Schools, Social Services, Inclusive Education team, Refugee Support team, other voluntary organisations etc.

  The activities we offer are:

• Supplementary School on Saturdays aimed at curriculum support for pupils to raise achievement;
• Literacy and Numeracy support for underachievers and pupils with SEN;
• ESOL for early stage bilinguals and/or new arrivals and refugees to the borough;
• Careers awareness project for young people aged 13– 19 years;
• Positive behaviour management for children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties as well as those who are socially excluded;
• After School club.
• Peer Mentoring training for pupils with low self-esteem.
• Poetry workshop sessions for vulnerable children
• Youth Health promotion project
